Policies for online classes

Astoria School District is in the beginning stages of offering online courses for our MS and HS students. We are having discussions and trying to work out policies for our students and staff that pertain to expectations. I know that there are many districts that have gone down this road before and have created policies that are working. Unfortunately we are not one of them. We would great appreaciate any help that we can get if you wouldn't mind sharing your online policies or know of a good resource.

Tools

ePortfolio

Each student can create page with a personal education plan and profile as they work toward their diploma. Teachers can use ePortfolios to quickly post materials on the web for their students.

Content Library

Download ready-made curricula, complete with reading assignments, multi-media presentations, quizzes and tests, as well as class presentation notes.

Podcasting

Download a podcast of a speaker, a play, an audio book, a radio or television broadcast. Play it in class or assign students to listen to it as homework.

Web Conferencing

You can access professional development resources via web-conferencing and communicate with other educators throughout the state who are using ORVSD resources.
