ORVSD Support
Frequently asked questions:
I'm a teacher at a private school. Can I use the ORVSD resources?
ORS 329.840 specifically says that the purpose of the Oregon Virtual School District is to provide online courses to kindergarten through grade 12 public school students. The rest of the statute and state board rules also are consistent with this. We do not see that we have authority to allow private schools students access even if they pay a fee. Without changes to the law we cannot provide these services to private entities.Where is the site hosted?
The ORVSD sites are hosted in Corvallis at Oregon State University. ODE is contracting with the OSU Open Source Lab to provide both the hosting and development of the services. Are there limitations on server space?
Not at this time. We'd love to be in a situation where we're successful enough to require us to request additional sever space.
